We have the top Hummingbird feeder which is designed to keep wasps and bees out with bee guards added to the ports. However, the wasps don't seem to know that. They come to the feeder and stay and then woe to the hummer who tries to approach. The wasp chases her away. Of course,we are careful not to get the sugar water on the outside of the feeder. Someone mentioned they heard almond extract works. Has anyone actually tried it?

My husband bought the imitation almond extract (He's cheap).

Will that work as well? Is it unhealthy for the hummingbird?
