Which salvia do you grow? There are so many varieties. I've had problems with something, maybe rabbits, eating my salvia nemorosa such as 'Rose Queen', 'Marcus' and 'Caradonna'. I suspect bunnies in my garden as I don't see deer tracks around those plants and we have over 20+ deer that sleep a few feet away from our garden every night.

I've not had problems with deer or rabbits eating the salvia gregii varieties nor the salvia 'Black & Blue' nor the salvia ulignosa.

However, deer in different areas may choose different plants. So what works for one person may not work for another.

I have great luck with agastache rupestris varieties, a hummingbird favorite.
