Crocosmia As An Attractant

On impulse, I bought a Crocosmia "Lucifer" from a local nursery. I wasn't even thinking Hummingbird at the time.

It didn't take long for my regular hummer(s) to find it. The Crocosmia is visited as much as my Black and Blue Salvia.

I don't hear much about this plant here. Has anyone else had luck with Crocsomiia?

Mine don't get used as much as the B&B, but they do get used. I have Lucifer, Emberglow and Little Redhead.

Crocosmia is well-liked by hummers in my garden. When it blooms is usually when I see my first Black-chinned Hummingbirds of the season and it hits full bloom about the time the Rufous Hummingbirds start to migrate south for their fall migration.
