| Howdy All!!!
Me again...and showing off a feeder I made this morning out of a glass test tube. I hung it outside to take a photo and it took the hummies only four minutes to find it!!!
Here's my newest home-made hummie feeder and the hummie stamps of approval :o)
New feeder photo:
Whoaaaaaaaa! What's this?
Ooooooooooh nectar!!! Hey Puddy, watch where you're standing - ya wanna hummie splat on your camera lens?
Watch me chug it all down :o)
Glug! Glug! Glug!
Yep, it's "curl my little toes" deeeeeeelicious!!!

Ohhhhhh! That is too cute! What do you use in the end of the tube to keep it from leaking out? It is just adorable. Your pictures are so good. |

| Cat - That is another cool looking feeder. It looks like a Buff Bellied? Great pictures. Thanks for posting. Ruth |

| Well, I had planned to do housework but allowed myself to get side-tracked by the hummies and b'flies :o) The end cap is a plastic stopper from stockcap (add the .com to find that on the web). They offer free samples so I emailed asking for stoppers that would fit the insulin bottles I normally use as well as 1/2" test tubes - which is also the same size of opening as on those airplane liquor bottles. I found a stash of those that I'd collected when I was in college (oh so many decades ago!!!) So...eventually I will be making some feeders out of those recylced airline liquor bottles too...just as soon as I decide what other stoppers I want to order. ...Yes, it's a buff bellied. Also have a couple of ruby throats that showed up last week. The aerial antics are starting now that new hummies are showing up. I am never fast enough to get a photo of that :o( My regular hummies are so used to my insulin bottle feeders and they quickly zoomed in on the new test tubes ones but it's been a riot watching the 'new comers' figure out all my new fangled feeders!!! The new comers check out the back end...they check out the beads...and the stained glass too...then fly off and circle back around to try again. They are learning how to recognize the stoppers as the source for the nectar :o) ~ Cat |

| Forgot to mention...I heated up a nail to make a hole in those plastic end caps - the hummies gotta be able to get to the nectar :o) ~ Cat |

| Cat you are SO creative. I know what you mean about planning to do housework but getting sidetracked. It happens to me all of the time. The hummies will soon be leaving those of us here in PA for warmer climates so I watch them as often as I can these days. I love your new feeder! Charlotte in Middletown |
