I have had no finches all summer I sure hope I get them this Fall-winter, usually I get a lot. We've been having alot of rain this summer so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

We don't get gold finches until December, but have house finches year round. For some reason they love to drink out of the ant moat on my hummer feeders even though there are 4 birdbaths in the yard.

RE: no finches

In early spring I was feeding the finches and I was having more house finches than goldfinches. But then I was starting to have so many hummers that I needed the space for hummer feeders. So I quit feeding the finches but they are still around and come for the birdbath water. Once the hummers start to thin out more the finch feeder will go back up.
