I can agree that they are leaving but the process of leaving can be quite exciting. During that process is when I see my most hummers. Sure it is bitter-sweet but it is a great time of the hummer season. Last evening I probably enjoyed more hummers in my front yard than Ive had in 3yrs but I have made some changes. Anyway I enjoyed more than 20 most likely closer to 30. Click on the link and turn up the volume. Better if you slightly upsize the view screen.

Wow, Steve. That sure is a lot of hummers! They seem to be chasing each other around rather than cooperating, like I see them do in some place in California.

Yes, Mary, the fall migration is happening. My males have left, but I still have three or four around. I think at least two are juveniles. Don't yours usually arrive in September?

I start seeing some in Sept., but they don't stay. My winter visitors come in Dec. and hang till April. My Shrimp plant is full of blooms and ready for them as are my Pentas, Firebush, etc. Can't wait to see one!

I responded about the Camphor trees - maybe able to help you there and yes, I would take a PawPaw if you still have one. Both of mine have died.

i had about 20 to 25 birds at my feeders last week but now down to about a dozen which is the least i have had in years. maybe early migration this year live in north western ontario canada
