That is strange. I have cardinals here to, but never see them on my balcony. I do have house finches that enjoy my feeders, and they have similar beaks to cardinals. They are heavier than hummers and when perched, they tilt the feeder over their way making it leak through the port. That makes it easy for them to get the nectar. Thieves! LOL

That is rather funny. I have never seen cardinals at any age on my feeders, but I have had finches on my salvia plants and on my coral honeysuckle. Some have said they have had woodpeckers on the feeders. It is amazing what some copycats will do.

It might be because we have a TON of cardinals out here. We get get a new broad every year and I'm thinking that we may have two broods this year. We have a very wooded backyard, though we live in the city. My hubby and I are sure that the jouvinille learned to go to the sugar-water feeder and the black and blue from watching the hummers.
