I know how you feel. I've had one female today after lunch. She hit all three feeders, then the Coral Honeysuckle, ignored the all the Salvia and has been gone ever since. I feel like I'm Rob's Rest Stop for hummers. I wish I could get some to stay for a few days.

Just had another visitor stop by on its way thru to whereever seemed to really enjoy the cuphea shumannii which is in full bloom even now, no feeder action from any of the pass-thru hummers. They dont hang long just to rest and refuel, then onward. Cant say I blame them next week we are in for some mid-30 temps at night. Seems a little early for those cold temps, or not.

Hopefully, your visitor will hang around your place for a day or two. My female visitor yesterday is back. She loves the autumn pink and autumn red sage, the B&B, and honeysuckle, and mexican fire bush. Not once today has she hit the fresh feeders I put out last night, just going for the blooms.

I had cuphea this summer, one of my favorites. But the heat and (aphids?) got it. I'll buy more next year. I really lke that plant.

Steve I have food for your hummers coming my way. Several hummingbirds stopped in this afteroon for something to eat and a rest. It will be interesting to see if they stay a day or two or just leave out on the trip south early in the morning. I will look of others tomorrow afternoon.

Mimi, I checked out Cuphea David on the net. That is the Cigar plant I had most of the summer. The heat and an infestation of tiny white bugs got it.

The hummers loved it while I had it. I also had 'Batfaced Cuphea' Ever seen that one?
