Hummingbird Garden

First female of the year!

(First one we've *seen*, that is; I'll be the first to admit there's a lot that happens in my garden that I don't see.)

Our alpha male spent the entire day perching on his branch and recklessly chasing away other hummingbirds from his nearby feeder, then around dinner time a skiddish female came to the feeder for a minute or two while he looked on protectively. It was very cute. To think, only an hour ago I was remarking how selfish the little alpha is.

I would assume you will be seeing many more before too much longer. Enjoy , not a lot of action in my neck of the woods.
