Question for cthchpr - or anyone else!!

Okay, I'll admit it: I'm green with envy at the beautiful pictures on your entry on "census pics from this morning."

I have 5 feeders up, and there's almost always activity at one or more. I have no idea how many hummers I have, but there's almost always one coming or going.

That's the operative word: ONE. I have always suspected that the photos of multiple hummers on one feeder are photoshop! I have NEVER seen two feeding at the same time. They simply do not play nicely with others.

My feeders are separated. Is that making the birds more territorial? Would it make a difference if I had several in one location like you do?

BTW, I'm in Northern Indiana and still have a few here . . . just refilled the feeders tonight. I'll be moving to mid-Tennessee (South of Nashville) next spring, and hope to attract them on our ridge . . .
