Hummingbird moth in the agastache

At first I thought it was a super-tiny hummer feeding in the agastache -- it hovers and the wings blur just like a hummer would, and he moves from flower to flower feeding. Even the overall silhouette is similar. But then he got close to the window and I could see his body was striped.

Just as thrilling, tho. I love it when a window opens a crack into the other world and I get a glimpse inside -- toads living in some clay pots, a tiny green toad once on some green shade cloth on my deck, deer asleep under the trees, a deer staring at me for a moment before disappearing back into the woods, a woodpecker bringing his baby to eat my suet.

You know the kind of thing. I always take it for a special gift. Just for me, because I was the one who was there.
