Tropical Depression Lee brings more hummers

I have noticed more hummers at my feeders. We had rain and wind for a couple of days, and the hummers love the weather! I noticed a bully male chasing the others. Also, noticed a very fat female. Maybe she was just puffed up in the wind. I have a saucer feeder, 6 ports,and for some reason it tilts,so the nectar is mostly on one side. A female tried to feed, and tried all the ports until she discovered the ones with the nectar. I have very smart hummers - they are awesome! I am driving to Houston in the morning for birth of 7th grandchild. I hope hubby will keep the feeders filled!

Yes I too have a saucer feeder [hummzinger] and cant seem to get it to hang level either. Hummer will bounce around on it till they find the nectar. Funny to watch. August has been a great migration year here and they are still coming thru here at a pretty good clip but another week and Im sure most will be gone just a few straglers. I have had my best hummer season ever here in central indy. I have one male that has been guarding my backyard for the last two days hope he sticks for a while.
