Hummingbird Garden

Ever since I put up a feeder my lone hummer has not returned to my yard. I have ordered a humzinger feeder and now don't know if I should keep it or send it back. I was hoping that putting up feeders would attract hummers not scare them off. Since it's been so hot here I am even chaning the sugar water daily making sure not to have sour water. My plants that it was coming to have lost all of their flowers, another reason I was putting up a feeder. Wonder if other hummers will find the feeder or if I should just take it down.

You have nothing to lose by leaving the feeder up. Where in FL are you? Alot of RTs will overwinter on the Gulf coast due to very mild winters. I've taken down some of my feeders, but 6 remain hanging. (I'm 150 miles north of the Gulf in MS) Though my population has decreased considerably in the past few days, I still have about 6 that I've counted at one time, and others will probably be passing through as well. The end of hummer season is such a let down, but quite honestly, those little buggers have worked me to death...but I'll miss them for sure!

I'm on the east coast of FL. I am about 100 miles south of Kennedy Space Center.
