I just wanted to tell a little story that happened this summer with one of my hummers. I went out on my balcony and was standing about 3 feet away from my feeder and I noticed a spider was hanging on its web blowing in the wind just a foot and a half away from my head, then a hummer came speeding along around my condo building and went to the feeder, it immediately jumped off the feeder, to which I thought I had scared him when he scared me..(he made me jump a little, he sounded like a jet engine as he flew past my head!!) but he buzzed right up to the spider dangling a foot and a half away from my face and gobbled it down and went back to the feeder to feed, he never even seemed to have seen me. It was so funny watching him eat that spider, it was a small spider but it seemed a little big for him but he got it down alright.
