Where they go for winter

I've wanted to know where my hummers spend their winter and found this map in the link below. Looks like Yucatan penusula down to Panama. Someone correct my geography if I'm wrong.

It reminds me that some RTs supposedly fly across the gulf instead of through Mexico. Probably to the Yucatan penusuala then south from there. I wish we could get some of those off shore oil rig rough necks to put out some feeders and maybe some Honeysuckle in big pots to grow on their oil rigs this time of year. Just a nice rest stop across an ocean. Ok, I know, I'm just dreaming. LOL

Yes you are correct, some fly across the gulf and some go inland thru mexico, some stop in southern mexico for the winter and some go on to central america. It is all quite amazing, they get a lot done travel wise during their limited 3-5 year lifespan. But it is what they have to do to survive. In the spring they come back north to breed as it is too crowded and competitive in their wintering grounds.
