I have one hummer too, here in North Georgia, and it's likely that this one spent the summer farther north, and my feeder is a stop over to gain more weight to prepare for continuing southern flight to Central America. These lone ones will more than likely go too, and soon. . Occasionally, hummers will overwinter in the South, but in over 20 years of feeding them, I haven't had one here. Even when it appears all hummers are gone, I will probably leave up a feeder for a month or two more - Rufous hummingbirds have been known to visit feeders in the winter.

Our ruby throats (Mom, Dad, Baby) haven't left yet. We are keeping the feeder filled for them. This seems to be the latest they have stayed.

My last hummer left on Sept 25th. I live in southwest VA. I still have my feeder up but would be surprised and beyond thrilled to have another glimpse of one. I miss them terribly. Three is the most I had this summer.

I'd not seen a hummingbird here for about 2 weeks & suddenly 1 appeared yesterday at the feeder. hopefully this is one that's just making a stopover. the birds that were here 2 weeks ago were so plump I wondered how they were able to fly.

I have had a couple here the last few days. I'm in SE MO.

The latest I've had any here was on Halloween.
