Late Hummingbird

I have a female ruby throated hummingbird still feeding. This is two months later than the normal exit of hummers here and 5 weeks later than I have ever seen a random hummer. She has been feeding steadily for the past 6 weeks, at least since I first noticed her. It's getting quite chilly some nights - there was slush in the feeder one morning this week! I worry for her....

Wow... I'd be quite worried as well. It's beyond late, so I have to think the chance of this hummer making it to central America is pretty small. Heck, if she has remained in Connecticut through October and November maybe she's just not programmed correctly. In that case, there's not much anyone can do.

Hi Katrina! I was born and raised in CT and moved to upstate NY 2 years ago. I was just wondering if you still see that little hummingbird around? I hope she is ok!!! I never had one at my feeder after the 3rd week of September. I would be worried sick also!
