| While I was out in the back yard early this morning this bird stopped by and stayed with me for a while. He/she is a beautiful bird that I have not seen here before. The brightest red color really stood out against the dark cloudy sky.

| Looks like a Male Anna in full head dress. We are heading into their breeding season were the male Anna's gorget color become even more striking and brilliant. Viewed from a certain angle, and you will see the male Annas display a brilliant flash of color. |

| Thanks Zzyzx! I have been watching the hummers for a while but I have never been able to tell the difference between the female and male. I have learned to recognize a few of the individual birds that come to the feeder. Sigh! I will be on a look out for the extra activities. Thanks so much!
