Hellebore strains

Having seen some hellebore strains in garden centres recently I am sure I can do better !!

Firstly 'Snowdon Strain' - less said the better - flower shape/colour variable to say the least.

Kayes garden hybrids - no comment!

Also hybridus strains marketed as something like bright reds that were plain white in colour!.

My first encounter with Ashwood strains has left me disappointed - my first two were dire - one just being a dwarf green - not exactly pretty-looking either - I should have kept my money for another dumertorum!

RE: Hellebore strains

You got my vote Richard. It seems hellebores hybrids are a mess of hype. You cannot buy the ones on web pages, they are not for sale! You are better off hybridizing your own.
