| I have a prairie reconstruction project that contains echinacea pallida e. paradoxa, e. purpurea, e. angustifolia and glade coneflower[i forget the scientific name] within close proximity of each other, what can i expect as far as cross pollinating among them?
Will the seed produced in this field be pure? any insight would be appreciated. |

| These cross and this family does attract insects for pollination so the purity may be compromised. There is a on going research/breeding project on Echinacea at the Chicago Botanical gardens. I would contact the or Dr Ault for more specific info about cross pollination and isolation distances (i dont have that kind of specific info on ornamentals). http://www.chicagobotanic.org/research/breeding/echinacea_article.html
