Is one able to cross breed a Athyrium filix-femina 'Lady in Red' (Northern Lady Fern)with a Dryopteris erythrosora Brilliance? If not what ferns can you mix together to make a fern that is more red then a regular Dryopteris erythrosora Brilliance?

RE: ferns

The issue with hybridizing ferns is that they propagate by spores, they're not angiosperms. The gametophyte stage looks like an entirely different plant, and I'd imagine it would take some serious lab work to try to cross breed most ferns.
