hybridizing iris for the first time

| I am looking for information about hybridizing iris. This is my first time. Have made 12 crosses, tagged, flagged, and documented what I did. This part was easy. Wondering about the next step - seed collecting and planting. What is the easiest and most successful way to do this? In trays, raised beds, section of my iris beds, what kind of soil, etc. Also would like info on results others have had in their crosses. Thanks - this is exciting! |

| I set them in trays or window boxes indoors for the first year then outside for the second they will bloom in the third year . I use rich loam for mine but I am not an expert. Some times the results are what you do not want they come out with small heads and long stems for instance . But back cross, or inbreed and keep tying . |
