Want info on Variegation from pollen vs. seed parent

Hello,
I am currently writing a paper on variegation and was wondering if there were examples breeding with variegated plants where the male pollen parent is variegated and the female seed parent is not, but still produced variegated progeny versus the standard maternal production of variegation?
If so, what genus has this occured in?
Thanks for any input you can offer.

| Hi Jake, With Rosa Sinesis variegated varieties, eg Rose Flake and Snow Flake as pollen parents with plain foliated hibiscus as pod parents, none of my few seedlings grew variegated. You may find this useful as well, .. when you grow the seed of variegated Leriopes, you end up with all white seedlings that all die. Good luck, Brian Kerr. |
