Brown leaves and flower - Please help

Posted by newflowergardener CA (My Page) on

Hi,

Please help. I am located in zone 9. My Hydrangea is not doing well, and I don’t know why. I bought this Hydrangea several months ago, it was doing fine. One month later, I started noticing holes and brown area on the leaves (please see photos below). 2 months later, some of the flowers are getting brown spots. I am new to Hydrangea and gardening. I water it regularly. Please advise what I can do to save it. Thanks.

You might want to post this on the main hydrangeas thread, where it will be seen by more people who might be able to help. Wish I could, but I'm still new to mine, too.

Did you ever get an answer to your problem? I am having the exact same problem. Four weeks in the ground and mine are looking the same way.

It looks like plain old sun scorch to me....too much heat/sun in that spot. Is it near a foundation? That can reflect a tremendous amount of heat.
