There are two similar pink Annabelles, Invincibelle Spirit and Bella Anna. I suggest you see both in bloom as the shade of pink varies and, depending on your personal taste, one shade may look better than the other (it did to me). I was lucky to find a local nursery that had both specimens side by side. I saw them in May-June and was able to also compare the sandy color that they turn into (after the pink color fades). Not much difference otherwise.

'Bella Anna' was a star performer that loved the moderate temperatures of my zone 3, a friend that lives nearby had also given the plant rave reviews. I've seen several specimens of 'Invincibelle Spirit' and in many aspects it appeared to be inferior to 'Bella Anna'.

Apparently, these plants show better and longer lasting color where summers are not overly hot.

In my opinion, these do have their place, but you need the right place for them. In a formalized landscape or against a clean modern home, these may look a bit messy unless used in massive quantities (and who can afford that?). Or against a "jungle" type woodsy backdrop with deep shade, grapevines and water weeds, these can get washed out.

I picked up a Bella Anna and placed it at the edge of a hillside between two Annabelles with the "jungle" beginning about 10' down the hillside. That prevents the color washout, and makes an interesting addition to the outer boundaries of my garden.

I believe the best types of places are in bright informalized landscapes, such as around rural home properties, or against a wooded area with bright filtered light.

I have the invincible spirit, and I am not thrilled with it. It will be going on its third year. I do cut a few flowers for bouquets, but it isn't a show stopper. I would just rate it as ok. I personally haven't seen Bella Anna in any local nurseries, but I plan on buying it if it does pop up. I wouldn't get rid of my invincebellle plant, but wouldn't replace if it died.
Now maybe it'll feel threatened and perk up this year! :)
