 o
Deer and PGs

We have TONS of deer in our area (in fact I think a few of them were elected to our community association council recently) and I know that they do eat hydrangeas and I will have to live with that.

However, I'm hoping that PGs get tall enough that EVENTUALLY they'll be tall enough not to be horribly affected by the nibbling. So I'm thinking of surrounding the pg's I'm planning to plant with those little tree-protection fences until they get tall enough.

So my question is...does anyone know how tall that would be? Any experience with deer and tall PGs? Any experience with those little tree-surrounding fences?

Deers will eat everything below 6' line.

Yes. If left unpruned, in 3-4 years.
