I had a question about Annabelle and Re-Blooming Hydrangeas. I have one each sxs in a bed, and they will be going into their second season this year. I read about Annabelles and Re-Bloomers online (I have Invinicbelle and Endless Summer, respectively) and as per videos and other info, I cut the Invincibelle all the way to the ground after it went dormant, and the Endless summer about 3/4 of the way down. There is about 6-8 inches of the endless summer remaining. My question is, is this adequate cultural practice for these? How big can they get with this type of yearly pruning? I don't want them to be the 6 ft tall and 4-6ft wide giants, but rather into the 4x4 range. Thx.
