Good luck as they can zap tender new growth in a jiffy. But it sure does feel weird to hear that at a time when temps here have gotten into the 80s.

Problem is that it was in the 80's a couple weeks ago!

Right on with the paniculata...30 degrees this past weekend and new growth is fine.

I can't believe it! When you type my zip into weather.com it says a frost advisory but then states our temps are only going to reach 41 degrees tonight?

We got to 34 last night. Frost on the grass and cars. Hydrangeas are fine today.

www.accuweather.com says 36 degrees tonight, so that's not too bad.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy.... yes, there is an offical frost warning tonight! It's now 10pm and I only just got home!!! Alright, I am on my way to cover up my babies in the yard now............. sigh!

Well, it didn't do it thankgod. It only got down to 36 here. No frost! It doesn't hurt to keep an eye out on the forcast though.

I ran around the yard like crazy. Of course we had no frost either. False alarm!

We had a light frost here last night, but then nothing serious! Thank goodness!!!

However, if I am correct, you do NOT need to get down to 32F to have a frost. It really depends on various factors. You can be in the mid 30's and have one. That's what happened this past week - our official temp NEVER dropped down to 32F but we had 2 hard frost already. Please take a look at this helpful article below.
