Depends on how big the plant was when you bought it. I would not expect much for the first year (or two). It's more important to get it off to a good start putting roots down and growing.

I noticed on my Little Honey yesterday that it has many sprouts growing in an area around the bush which is something new to me. I think I counted 13 new sprouts and this oakleaf is probably 7 years old.

Mine did. Purchased last year in a 2G container and replanted into a larger glazed ceramic container, it produced flowers well into October. Still has some of its winter colored foliage remaining but new growth is replacing it rapidly.

This could be my new favorite oakleaf, replacing my long love affair with 'Little Honey' :-))

Yes, my Ruby Slippers and PeeWee Oakleaves did too. Probably a container like gardegal48. So did an Alice that I no longer have. It was in a larger pot though.

Their flower buds develop in July, stay invisible until Spring and then you get blooms.
