| I noticed tons of beetles crawling on and around my new wedding gown hydrangea. I identified them by pictures online. They are soon to be ladybugs I'm told. Does anyone know if they can do any harm to the plant? It says they eat aphids but its not clear to me if they do damage to the plant. I have a lot of buds on it this year and I would hate to see it get destroyed. Anyone else have this happen? |

| If they really are ladybugs or their larvae, no harm will be done, they are completely beneficial. You should be happy to see them. If immature ladybugs, they may have hatched there and not have left in search of food yet. The larvae don't look quite like beetles though, most people describe them as resembling little alligators :) |
