At full maturity, 'Brunette' will get to at least 5 feet, if not 6. Morning sun and afternoon shade is just about right, though you will probably need to provide some winter protection during hard frosts. It is absolutely an attention grabbing plant- the foliage and flower pigment is astounding. I don't have any personal experience with Big Daddy, but Graham Thomas is a great rose. I would think it might want a little more sun, though.
