I need specific sun requirements

Oakley

I'm a 2nd year novice, so I'm still seeking a lot of advice.

I bought my second Hydrangea, Endless Summer, which was all the nursery had. I have another one from last year which survived the icy winter, but it didn't grow much last year, nor did it bloom very much.

I'm thnking it's because it doesn't get enough sun. It gets dappled sun in the mornings but no direct sunlight. It has a bloom on it though!

I'm checking the hours of direct sun on the east side of the house today (it's been cloudy the past few days), and I want to make sure the new ES gets the EXACT amount of sun it requires.

It's extremely hot here in the summer, and I know full sun is out.

How many hours of morning sun should this Hydrangea get?

Thanks!
