I have two Limelights, and I think I got one from Bluestone. In any case, neither were very large when I bought them, although I know one was bigger than 6". I put mine right in the ground, but I made sure each was surrounded by chicken wire. (I put three stakes in the ground around the plant, and circled them with the chicken wire fencing. This stayed around the plants until they were large enough that rabbits, etc., were no longer a threat.

I ordered 'Little Honey' from Bluestone on the sale and have not received it yet but do plan to put in a pot because I don't know where to plant it yet.

I ordered my limelights last spring, can't remember which mailorder nursery, but they are fast growing! I don't have much trouble with critters, but I did nothing with mine and they grew and bloomed great which I was surprised being the first year. I'm glad I didn't spend a boatload of cash on a large plant!

Thank you for the responses everyone. I was going nuts reworking my container plants yesterday, and before I knew it, I plunked baby LL into a large pot with some annuals along the edges. It's heated right up here with little to no rain in the near future, so I'll wait to plant it in the ground in fall. If it starts to get big in the meantime, I'll yank the annuals.
