you might have a varigated hydrangea...they look very pretty with the leaves, some people only grow them for the beauty of the foliage...i dont know what plant zone you are in...but from teh look of the last pic, i would suggest to just let the plant leave out a bit more - maybe another 2-3 weeks should do, and if the top part of the sticks are still ugly and barren, then you can just trim that off (above the last pair of green leaves below)...as for transplant, it is not uncommon to see wilts after the transplant, just water it, give it time to rehydrate...it is best that the transplanted plant not to expose to the hot sun for the whole afternoon...try to give it some shade if necessary - if you water the plant thoroughly after the transplant, i'd bet the wilts been gone in no time - esp. during the cooler temps during the evening or night-time...if it gets a lot of sun, it could wilt again...and see if the wilt will go away by the evening - if yes, do nothing...if no, rewater it the next morning...watering the plant daily is not needed...too much water can drown a hydrangea..

Agree w/ orchidacea!

I have moved Hs around & usually water w/ recommended amt of *root stimulator* in the water. From your pic, I too think she is a variegated cultivar w/ several old wood leafing out (very good sign)!!! To allay fears ... it's not that easy to kill Hydrangeas!!!
