Planting a mail ordered hydrangea

I'm getting a mail ordered oakleaf hydrangea today. It has been in shipping for close to a week. This is not potted, rather being shipped with a relatively good sized root ball. Should be about a foot tall as well. What should I do? Get it in the ground right away? Put it in a pot to recover for a few days? Advice is appreciated.

if you can, plant that into the ground, water it thoroughly...and that's it..no need to be in the pot and wait and move again... unless the ground where the plant is supposed to be is not ready (dug, prep'ed etc etc)...oakleaf hydras are very tough cookies...no worry there..
