Hello, jmeandre. If it is a rebloomer, you should have more blooms later on but if it is not a rebloomer, you will need to wait until next year since it already bloomed in Easter.

Has it been exposed to freezing temps or has it had moisture problems? I do not see blooms in the pictures. Did you prune Easter's blooms already?

Greenhouse-forced hydrangea!! Those leaves weren't grown in outdoor environments so they will not last one way or another...

Cut all the brown stuff off with scissors down to the green. Keep the pot in a semi-shaded area and grow it outside in the pot for a couple years, overwinter in a cold place without freezing the roots.

You'll notice new growth coming from the base of the existing leaf stems beginning now or soon. The new leaves will be much more sun & weather tolerant...

I wonder if that's what's wrong with mine? I bought mine at Lowe's and it has not seen freezing temps. I'm in zone 8/9 in Texas.

Could be. But I see nice green growth underneath your old leaves so keep the soil as evenly moist as you can by watering as soon as the soil feels almost dry or dry. I had a similarly looking shrub that was forced to bloom by December... totally out of character for any hydrangea and its leaves looked like that by March. I left them on and new leaves sprouted by late March. Then all the leaves dried out in the Fall and by the following Spring, the shrub got in sync with the seasons and it looked nice.

My new Forever and Ever looked worse than that after an hour or two in a locked car in the sun. Next time I will take the plant into the doctors waiting room with me! After getting home it would not respond to water and cool shade and after a few days I repotted it in fresh mix, removing a lot of the tangled roots. Two weeks later it is now looking up, but I probably will not see bloom this year. Al
