If the leaves are just emerging, a 2 gallon shrub should produce blooms this year. Granted, wholesalers make them bloom at the wrong time of the year many times but if it is just leafing out and it is a new wood variety, you have a good chance of getting blooms. Speed of growth is a function of many factors so I would not even try to guess how much to expect on a single year but it is considered fast growing, which translates to approximately more than 10' after 10 years per label's size at maturity. Pee Gees can even become small trees.

The traditional "Grandiflora" does not grow as fast as some other of its paniculata cousins.

For example, I've been testing Great Star and Snow Mountain and it seems they'll easily grow taller than most people within just a few years...

Other steady growers out there include Pinky Winky and Limelight, but which only max out at 6-8'...
