First off, hi everyone!

This is my second attempt at having a hydrange bush! First one was a few years ago and it only lasted a few days :(

I'm definitely more prepared this time but seem to be having some trouble with a newly purchased hydrangea.

I'm not entirely sure what type it is, because my husband threw away the tag, but I bought it at lowes.

I have it in a large pot, on the east side of our house. It gets plenty of unfiltered morning sun and shade from about noon on.

It was doing really well but the blooms, that were on it when I purchased it, are fading their color and turning brown even before they fully open. The blueish buds on one blooms have turned brown and I have noticed brown spots on the wood and now on some of the leaves.

Can anyone please help me? Am I doomed as a hydrangea owner (yes I'm dramatic lol) Or is there something I can do to save this little guy?

I do plan on planting it in the ground in the same location eventually.
