buds in es now the size of quarters but Ayesha and Big Daddy are not yet showing--all others are[[are they just late??

Ostrich, this is in a full confirmity with my understanding of ES 'miracle': no, it's not hardier than other hydrangeas, but yes, it does blooms on new woods only because it has a SHORTER TIMEFRAME (higher speed) than other hydrangeas to develop buds.

Awesome Ostrich!!! I noticed today that most of my Hydrangeas are loaded with buds also!! I am so excited for this year!!! My Geraniums are already blooming. My roses are loaded with buds also along with my peonies. My Black Lace is loaded also. How about your Black Lace???

I am not sure what to thank for how great everything looks so early this year. The winter or warm spring periods we had or maybe a combination of both. Even most of my Hydrangeas that I have to winter protect are already loaded with buds, so it is not just the rebloomers. I can't wait!!!

Ostich you stopped using the F word, but you are finding ways around it...LOL...Stay Positive about our nice warm weather in NE Ohio...LOL

George, you are back!? Great to see you again! You know, while it is truly conforming to what ES is supposed to do, it is still nice to see that they are full of buds by early May! For the past many years that I have had my ES, I have never seen buds so early in the season!!! Like I said, I just hope that the weather will stay warm enough so that they won't be killed off.....

OK, I almost used the F word again, hydrangeasnohio! LOL! My Black Lace is also showing buds too! I like it!!! :-)

my hydrangeas haven't even been transplanted into the ground and they are blooming like crazy right now...
