Does Quickfire always have red stems?

I recently bought 4 Quickfires that came in 3 gallon pots and they all have the typical deep red stems that we see in pics. My husband bought me 2 more in 5 gallon pots but they both do not have red stems. He bought them at different places. Could both places have mislabeled them? Could it be that bc they are older plants they don't have the red stems? I hate to tell my hubby that he got the wrong plants :(

    Excellent point.

For starters, if properly exposed to the sun already, they should be blooming within a month's time - end of July at the latest. If not, I would suspect that one or more would NOT be Quick Fire.

The newer growth on Quick Fire is always red.

They are both budding up so I was thinking MAYBE they are right but the stems have them looking more like my limelights (which don't have buds yet). It'll be interesting figuring out what they are I guess. I don't want to tell husband. He hardly ever surprises me w/plants. I don't want him to think he messed up when it's the nurseries' fault.
