Lemon Daddy stays yellow since day one. Mine is in its third summer in ground. It made a few nice pale-pink blooms last year and will make a handful this year... The middle of the shrub is kind of bare because there were no buds set along the old canes - only at the ends(?). But more or less all the terminal buds made it. It has grown to 3x3', is a due-east foundation planting, getting AM sun.

Nice to know it stays yellow all the time! I was going to mention that I had a Sun Goddess some time ago and its yellow hue was temporary (I no longer remember how long the yellow lasted but probably thru June). Its blooms (pink over here) were nothing to write home about. It received sun between mid-morning till lunch time.

I have lemon wave, and the yellow stays bright yellow all season.

Same with 'Little Honey'. A clear yellow all season, deepening to more of a gold with russet highlights in fall. Foliage scalds if in full sun.
