acidifying soil with magnesium sulfate

Can magnesium sulfate be used to acidify the soil for blue hydrangeas? My plant is potted. Thank you

Short answer: No.

I don't know about potted plants nor what kind of hydrangea you have (not all hydrangeas will turn blue, no matter what you add), but for my Nikko Blue hydrangea, planted in the ground, I add aluminum sulfate to turn it blue.
