After debating for couple of months between blue and pink I have decided on blue for my ES. However The soil here is extremely alkaline. When do I apply the acid and would watering it with bottled water be a good idea as I hear that the tap water in the area will just wash away the acid since it is alkaline as well. My baby is planted under an overhang so when it rains it doesn't receive much water. Previously I just let it flower whatever color it wants but I want to try blue this year.
I plan on using Espoma Organic Traditions which says that it is safer that aluminum Sulfate. Anyone used this stuff before? It also says: Turns Hydrangeas Blue, Lowers soil pH, Promotes dark green growth and safe, long lasting, won't burn.
Thanks,
Mel
