Climbing hydrangea should be able to grow tendrils and stick to the brick. Of course, since it can grow over 80 ft., you want to start with a trellis very very close to the brick so it attaches. After a while, I would somehow remove the trellis. What happened? Do you know? Wind storm?

Now that is has fallen, maybe you can prune it to a size that stands without falling and reattach it to a trellis? You can use screw eyes embedded into the mortar (use heavy gauge wire too) to reattach it. Masonry screws might also work?

I was afraid the answer might be to cut it. I know it's silly but it will be very hard to make myself cut it.
Yes, it was a crazy windstorm, maybe it wasn't attached very securely to the brick or maybe because of all the new growth that wasn't attached.
Sigh, I'll cut. Do you think it would be possible to root the cuttings? Sorry, I guess probably not. I could just imagine sticking these long vines into a bucket of water and hoping for the best.
