Oakleaf Sike's Dwarf in Evening Sun???

I purchased a small Sike's Dwarf earlier this year. My first Oakleaf Hydrangea! I heard they could handle sun and I knew their roots could not stay wet. So this was the best I could do. The location is pretty dry but gets full sun from 1 to 6pm. It has lately has been wilting/little floppy. So I have put a table over it and it perks right back up. I am ok doing that for this year, but will be on it's own next. Just wondering if anyone around my zone has had success with oakleafs in evening sun or do I need to somehow find a new location?
