Is anyone 'scoring' at big box sales?

I've made some really great scores these past 2 weeks at 2 different sales. One had 60% off (Rural King Farm Supply) and 75% off at Lowe's this past Sunday.

All were named varieties, some being Macrophylla and some Paniculatas. I still need to research them a bit for expected max size and determine the most perfect spots for them. They are all pretty root bound so I've been repotting them into bigger pots until they get planted out in hopefully their permanent place.

Is anyone else scoring at some local sales? What did you find? Of course they are all 'special', to me anyway.

I bought 3 hydrangeas at lowes for 5 dollars each! In 3 gallon pots. I got a nikko , sister teresa, and blue wave. im new to hhydrangeas, i hope they do well!

Our Lowes is wiped out but I am hoping to get to fred meyers in the next few days .They have some really nice named hydrageas for 60%off. They were looking really sad the last time I was in there so mayby they will mark them down farther. They have them sitting on cement in full sun.

No sales at our stores yet. I'm surprised, because some of the various plants look as though the store should pay someone to take them. No hydrangeas in that category (yet), but none on sale either.

No Lowes stores near me. Local HDs haven't reduced anything, including Hydrangeas. Have nothing of interest anyway, ES, Mini Mac and tons of unnamed Macs in gallons. All with huge price tags!
Found ES/Twist & Shout 'PIIHM-I' at a local independent nursery in June, marked down 30% and brought one home. Wish I had bought two. The flowers were really impressive!

Hmm.... my local Lowe's have only a couple of half dead hydrangeas (Forever & Ever) and Limelight on sale. They are so sad that I did not want to even revive them... then everything else is still regular price... mind you, I did buy a one-gallon My Monet Weigela for just over $3 there last week! OK, that was not a hydrangea... LOL

Home Depot has not been carrying any healthy looking hydrangea for some years around here now... sad...
