| NOTE: link to picture of damage below.
I live in Boston and planted a hydrangea over the 4th of July weekend. It gets several hours of afternoon sun. It has been hot and I underestimated how much water it would need. Plant is definitely stressed, with some leaves browning and falling off. But this morning I notice brown spots/holes in the leaves. Is this sun damage or worse? I'm a complete novice and any help is much appreciated. Thanks. |

| Mealy bugs or scale? Someone else in NY State sent me a similar photo. The top of the leaves showed no damage. The lower looked like yours. See the link below. |
