Climbing Hydrangea Damage

I had a BEAUTIFUL climbing hydrangea when I moved into a new home this spring.

Then my neighbor decided to trim it, cut vines almost 1" thick and now I have half a hydrangea. Let's not talk about it.

I decided to help it out and started using miracle grow on it spaced at least two weeks or more (3 applications). The last two applications I poured the mix directly on the leaves.

The past few weeks have been brutally hot here and this weekend I noticed about 1/2 - 3/4 of the leaves seem to have damage on them. Is this redness lack of water/heat or could it be a fertilizer burn, or both?
