I have pretty elephant ears growing in my garden. I clipped a leaf to bring inside. Put it in a a vase with water and it curled up Any ideas?

Drats, I wanted elephant ears from the fair.

RE: Elephant ears

Lack of water? I have seen insects also causing this (spider mites for example) as well as spraying some fungicides and herbicides. But those last two probably would not apply (I assume you would have noticed the pests).
