If I planted either of these in early morning sun (about 2 hours), would they bloom well? Not so concerned about how fast they grow but rather how showy they look. On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the best), how well would they grow in zone 5?

QF blooms earlier and has a better shape but I am in the "wrong" zone. I suggest you contact (send GWMail) mycitygarden and alexis717. There should be threads asking this same question out there too.

If they only get 2 hours sun, they won't bloom well. Paniculata is a really a full sun shrub. I have Tarvida in 4 hours sun and the blooms are looking weak. I'd rate Paniculata with a 9 in the Milwaukee area.
